Its amazing to think that the vision of two young volunteers 20 years ago has turned into a massive project regularly changing the lives of young people.
From quite humble beginnings in 1991 The Door has grown “the youth service in Stroud”

2011 was spent celebrating 20 fantastic years - and we did so in some style. 20 events from garden parties to cricket matches; sponsored walks and half marathons, worship events and fashion shows. We pulled the stops out and the public were there to support us.

A big thankyou to everyone who was involved in organising events, and to those who gave time and money.

But 2011 is over. And in 2012 we have equally big plans. Without a doubt the biggest ‘event’ of the year will be moving to our brand new, bigger, HQ.
Of course moving means we need more funds, so we’re continuing the 2020 Events ‘brand’,  but reducing the number of events this year.
But with The Door, less is more….

We’re still keeping our flagship Talent Contest in January,
We’re hoping for even more walkers for the 11 Miles of Madness in June,
We’re planning a major music festival, Lark in the Park in August,
Our AGM and Awards Night will be awesome in October.
