Coffee Bar at the Door Youth Project

The Drop-In is where it all starts.
It’s where we meet many of our young people for the first time. They saunter in, perhaps meeting a friend, perhaps intrigued by the offer of free internet access and the occassional game of free pool. As we get chatting to them, they open up and that’s when we hear about the trouble at home, that destructive relationship, or the run in with the headteacher.
We give information, advice, support and access to our other services.
We’re always there with a listening ear, a bar of chocolate and an orange squash.

The Drop-In is open:

Mon-Fri   3.00-5.00pm
Fri Eve   7.30-10.00pm
Sat     11.30am-5.00pm

Facilities include…

  • Pool Table
  • Music
  • Free internet access
  • TV & DVD
  • PS2 & Games
  • Great Sound System
  • Cheap hot and cold food
  • Safe and friendly atmosphere

Did you know…

Our Drop-In is run in part by the young people themselves as our regulars get involved in volunteering, organising and decision making.

Help- where on earth are you?

Meet Rosie…

I’ve been coming to The Door for just over two years and I have benefited so much from it. I volunteer behind the coffee bar and this has helped boost my confidence. I have made lots of new friends and met people that I would have not met in my usual close social circle. Many of the youth in Stroud are missing out on this interaction as they don’t come into The Door because it is too cramped. I believe that with a bigger building this wouldn’t happen.

I am part of the Youth Forum at the door and we are trying to raise £5,000 for the push the door appeal. £5,000 is only 1% of the £500,000 we desperately need to raise, so if you see us busking in town please give generously. raspberry
