10th Undiscovered Youth Talent Contest

Young people are now being invited to take part in the 11th Undiscovered Youth Talent Contest.

Last year participants travelled over 100 miles for an opportunity to seek their fame, but it was birthday boy Harry Jones who stole the show taking the top prize. This prize was five hours in a recording studio and after her recent visit Penny said, “It was amazing, a chance of a life time, it was so good I want to go back.”
In recent years three finalists have gone on to the bright lights and are now rising stars. Soheila Clifford has been signed to girl band “Lil Divas”, Nathan Sykes is signed to “The Wanted” and touring with The Saturdays, whilst Mary Jess (M-J) Leaverland went on to win the Chinese X-Factor and has also been signed to a major recording company.
As this is the tenth year that this event has been running, we are expecting an even higher turn out, a higher standard and even better prizes. Auditions will take place in October and November, with the top acts appearing in the grand final on January 29th 2011.
Although it may seem to be a long way off, we do recommend an early response, in order to ensure a good choice of audition times.
Project Co-ordinator Brendan Conboy comments, “It is fantastic to be approaching the tenth year of this event and it will be a great start to our 20th year as an organisation. Undiscovered Youth has really put Stroud on the map as a centre of performance art for young people. Special thanks go out especially to all of those that have taken part over the years and made it what it is today.”
Local businesses are being encouraged to get in on the act as sponsors.
